Mark Myers joins us as a sales rep covering the North and Northeastern Ohio area. Mark has been married to his wife Lisa for twenty-seven years and has lived in Wooster, Ohio most of his life. He and Lisa have a son (24) and daughter (22) and a granddaughter (2). His hobbies include fishing, golfing, traveling and most importantly, spending time with family. Mark says his granddaughter is the center of their family and every moment they spend with her is a real joy.

Pool Industry Background – Mark has been in the pool business for over twenty years. It all started when he installed an inground pool at his house. The dealer, being a friend of his, talked him into going into the business with him and opening up a second pool store. 

After three years he sold his interest to his partner and joined Olander & Brophy, a family-owned distributor. Shortly after that, Hughes Supply bought them out. Olander & Brophy had always been a Fort Wayne Pools distributor, and when Hughes Supply changed that, Fort Wayne Pools asked Mark to start a distribution branch for them in Akron, Ohio. Mark says it was a real challenge, but he loved it—it was both a lot of work and a lot of fun at the same time. 

About six years later, Pool Corp purchased Fort Wayne Pools. Mark prefers working for smaller family-run companies, and Pool Corp—like Hughes Supply before that—did not fit the profile. So after six months he left to work for Emsco, another family-owned pool distributor in the greater Cleveland area, where he worked for about seven years. 

Mark says he feels very blessed to join Team Quality and he looks forward to getting out to meet Quality Pool’s customers, and help them in every way he can.
